A chilly start to the day but at least it was in the 20’s…very sunny but breezy so it feels chilly. The girls were treated to the heater, set on low, last night since their water froze up a bit on Sunday night.
6 eggs yesterday and 6 at first check this morning. Will go check on them after this post to throw down some mealworms and to collect all eggs. Then, my project is to bring in wood, change the sheets on my bed, do some wash, and I think meatloaf is on the menu for tonight. Haven’t been on our diet this week – we’ll take a bit of a break.
Mid 40’s at the moment which isn’t bad for early November. Rain later this week with temps holding fairly steady. Just so not ready for cold weather.
Just signed up for the Gift of Life campaign in Rutland, being held on 12/17/13. Goal is to exceed the largest Red Cross blood drive in the US. Last year, our area missed topping the previous record by a mere 13 pints. I wanted to sign up last year but didn’t get the jump on it. This year I will donate though. My last donation was in 2006! Way too long ago. I have donated 5 gallons of blood so far since the first time, which was at GE. Seems so long ago!
I also ordered a fresh turkey at Wallingford Locker – Stonewood Farms. They are located in Orwell and the WCAX news just featured a story about them. Hefty price tag but it’s the local economy, they’re well grown and humanely cared for so what the heck. I think I might have had one in the past – and wasn’t real impressed – but I’ll try it again. Frank, Dick, Tom, Ruth, and I will gather around the dining room table for the feast. I think it’s my favorite holiday!
Slept fitfully again last night. Still not sure if I like the bed or not. Feels like a huge sink hole on my side of it. MUST get a new pillow!
Off to do my chores…such is life.
